Random Thoughts

Today we could have received up to 3-4 inches of snow, but thanks goodness we just saw a dusting. There was a lot of snow blowing around due to the 35-45 mph winds. The wind is still howling out side and the sky is gray, but tomorrow should be sunny with the high in the 50's. I think this happens most every year. Spring arrives but Old Man Winter needs to one more "one for the road winter blast" in before we start the duck and cover for the tornados. As I said in my first post I have been following a couple of Blogs for a while and thought I might share the links. One blog will leave you rolling in the floor laughing at the antics of 3 young children (who just happens to be my cousins). There mother (my cousin) is a wonderful writer and one heck of a mom. She can come up with some amazing ideas. So if you are feeling a little blue or just need a laugh this is the place to go. http://adventureswithgretchen.blogspot.com/ The other Blog, I don't quite remember how I came to find it. I think it may have been a post to a Myspace from a group called Selah (wonderful Christian group) for a cry for prayers. I remember reading the first post and I have laughed, cried, prayed and so on. This is a story about a sweet angel that was only on this earth for a short time, but in that short amount of time her story has effected hundreds if not thousands of people. This mom is such an inspiration even when she blogs about her weakest hour. I believe in showing total strangers that darkest hour in her life has taken more courage and strength than any of us realize. In her posts you can see into the very depths of what I would call one very Awesome Women. You can see the love she has for Christ, her family and perfect strangers poring out of every word that is "typed". To me this is a blog of learning how to lean on our perfect Lord and Savior. If you take the time to start at the beginning of her blog I guarantee you it will change your life. http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/

A Little about my life.

Hello all fellow bloggers. While I may be new at blogging I have followed several bloggers for a couple of years. I thought it was time that I stopped just "looking into others lives" and start typing about mine. Although I know mine won't be as near as interesting as the ones I follow at least I won't feel so much like a stalker. I live in an average size town in West Texas where if you don't see the dust blowing is a good day. There is not much in the form of entertainment and my son jokes that the "thing" to do is stroll the aisles of our local Wal-Mart. Like I said in the "about me" my son keeps me busy with all his activities. He is a member of JACS (Junior American Cancer Society), DECA, TAFE (Texas Assoc. of Future Educators) and YAC (Youth Advisory Commission). The first three are all through the school the last is through the Local Government. They disbanded the Theatre Club or we would be in that to. He is the local President of DECA as well as District 8 President of DECA. He (me to) will be going to California in April with DECA and then he will also be going to DC in July with DECA (all paid for) to attend leadership workshops. Where TAFE is concerned this year he was secretary and next year he will be the historian. He will be a Sr. next year so we will be having to also deal with duel classes from the University or College that is in town. I work part time as a Substitute teacher so I can be with my son as much as I can. I also have a disorder called Neurofibromatoesis (type 1) which effects my health as so as of Oct. 2008 I was placed on SSD. I still want to work, its just that I am not able to do as much as I would like. I have worked full time since I was 19 and not being able to do so now makes me feel as if I'm not doing my best. I have a younger sister that lives in the same town and she like my son is always busy. She works at a local daycare as well as our church. She also volunteers her time to the local Women's Shelter watching children while the mothers have group. She is also a breast cancer survivor. My mom is a retired teacher and lives just about 20 miles from here. She has often said she is busier now than when she worked. My dad died my Sr. year (Sept 11, 1987) due to complications of his NF (neurofibromatoesis). My stepdad works here in ________ as a security guard for a local company. He was once a popular artist in LA. In fact he did the album cover for the Door's "FULL CIRCLE". Along with many other album covers, movie posters, booklets etc....... Well, I guess that about covers the "a little about me".
